ASSAM: lately, the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Pramod Boro has warned that he would urge the companies not to sell KTM bikes within their jurisdiction if KTM riders don't adhere to the smooth-riding within the town.
Why in the News?
Pramod Boro while addressing the media stated, “since last two years most of the road accidents that took place in the Bodo territorial region were due to the reckless riding of youngsters especially the teen KTM bikers"
The Bodo Chief staunchly appealed to the teenagers and the KTM bikers to follow smooth driving and enjoy life instead of recklessly driving, therein leading not just a danger to one's life but even for the others.
What's the Update?
According to the latest government data, Assam ranked at 18 in fatal road accidents among the Indian states
Henceforth the Bodo Chief has made its stand clear that non-adherence to the proper riding ethics shall lead to the banning of the KTM bike sale within the jurisdiction of the Bodo Territorial Region.
What's the Reaction from the Denizens of Assam and BTR in particular?
Over the Social Media, the denizens seemed to have bellowed against the statement of the BTR Chief, claiming that the Bodo Territorial region has no KTM Showroom and one has to go to Guwahati, Bongaigaon or Rangiya etc within Assam to purchase the KTM bikes.
Some even went on to state the BTR chief has gone crazy, wherein the chief should first look at the bad road condition rather than banning bikes.
The people of Assam and the denizens of the BTR uproared words against the said statement, However, the BTR chief didn't openly say he will ban the KTM bike rather he warned concerning the reckless drive.
