Unknown miscreant reported to have burn down the Buddhist shrine in Upper Siang district" :Communities saddened.

Yingkiong: Sources from Upper Siang have informed the SPACE, of the tragic incident wherein the Buddhist shrine which once attracted many pilgrims has been burned to ashes.

Speaking to the Space, the sources have shared a few photographs as a mark of evidence wherein the Buddhist-related materials can be seen and the entire shrine burned to ashes.
This picture is said to be an important site for the Holy Pilgrimage of the Buddhist community, which is also popularly known as "Rewotala".
Sources have informed the SPACE that the site falls under upper Siang(district) of Arunachal Pradesh, India.
Due to no proper road, the pilgrims usually have to walk on foot to reach the shrine and pay homage to Lord Buddha.
The month of August to the end of September are the two months annually an important one, wherein the devotees go and receive the blessings.
It is said that the believers have donated whatever was in their capacity to build this Monastry in the hills and also Placed a "KU" (sculpture of God) which is heavier than 200 KG.
Sources have also mentioned that all the materials that existed in the shrine were mostly donated by the devotees.
Hitherto the miscreant who dismantled and burned down the shrine/Monastery is not known to anyone. The community is disheartened by the acts and hopes for a response from the authority responsible to unearth the act and its doer.

From this river Sipit, Yammeng, Simong Patang, Tangam Patang have originated. Around this place, there are many caves that give shelter to pilgrims. The scenic beauty of Eko-Dumbing is breathtaking.
It is known as Ekodumbing (Riutala) by the Adi community, the region comes under Simong territory of Upper Siang.
