UPDATE: The state of Burgeoning Shillong issue
Following the Previous Day's update regarding the Shillong Issue, the SPACE correspondent in Shillong stated: "Shillong is still engulfed with the curfew since the 15th of August even after being in a state of lockdown for several months implemented strictly by the Conrad Sangma led NPP government.

The SPACE media Correspondent further reported "Since yesterday no Media has been allowed to enter, Even the AAJ Tak reporters were stopped at Umiam -borapani junction. This Junction has a Police Naka wherein one of the roads leads to Silchar and the other to Shillong"
Chesterfield Thangkhiew the deceased was a surrendered militant since 2018, his supporters around IST 9:30 am to 10:00 am were seen violating the curfew and protesting, Leading to the Lathi charges by the CRPF Jawans stationed at the hotspot area, and amidst the Lathi Charge, few local media person too got affected.
The region of Mawlai and Umeam witnessed an explosion of Petrol Bombs by the protestors creating an environment of trepidation, perturbation, and a discomforting moment of an hour among the denizens.
The SPACE Correspondent further reported, "The protesters actually have a certain demand apart from the demise of the Surrendered HNLC Militant"
The Protesters demands the implementation of strict ILP (Inner Line Permit) for the outsiders since the State is filled with the Non-Meghalayan People controlling various sectors through the ownership of lands and business.
The SPACE Correspondent further reported Protesters saying, "We want our locals to be the owner of the land, so the business of outsiders purchasing and owning properties should be immediately stopped because the Land belongs to the Natives of Meghalaya"
