Traditional costume to be worn every wednesday: Tribal Affairs Department Nagaland

NAGALAND: Lately on 1st September the department of Tribal Affairs of Nagaland has started the prolonged discussion and decision of wearing the traditional costume as the office dress code. The department has directed the staff members and other officials to wear the traditional costume irrespective of the tribe they belong to.
This has to be followed every wednesday.
Having heard the news of it the other adjoining North-Eastern States has been filled with a euphoric state of mind. Some citizens of Arunachal Pradesh applauded the Nagaland government to take up such decision.
The decision has been undertaken to preserve and promote the rich Naga traditional attire.
Joint Director & HOD of Tribal Affairs, Sino Phom referred the initiative, as a humble step in regard to conceptualizing and promoting the rich traditional attire of the many tribes of Nagaland.
A notification to this effect was issued on August 27 and came into practice on September 1.
