Roing, July 8: A District Level Executive Committee Meeting of District Health Society on Mukhya Mantri Rogi Kalyan Kosh (MMRKK) was held today in the DC’s Conference Hall, Roing in the presence of Deputy Commissioner K. N. Damo, DMO Dr. R. Tatan, members of the committee and Medical Officers.
The meeting was held to chalk out the utilisation of funds provided for the implementation of MMRKK schemes for both COVID-19 and non COVID-19 health related expenditure. The house also discussed the increasing COVID 19 positive cases in the district, the steady rise in positivity rate and the preventive measures that can be taken.
DC K. N. Damo called for a judicious utilisation of the MMRKK fund and assured all possible help in acquiring medical equipment to augment the healthcare facilities available in the district.
Speaking on the alarming rise in positivity rate of COVID-19 cases and to do away with the probability of future lockdown in the district, he called for a need to restart mass testing to detect COVID-19 positive cases, isolate them and stop the spread of the disease. He also stressed on the need for intensification in administering of COVID-19 vaccine in the district.
The DC also advised the MOs to take the help of Gaon Burahs, PRI members, ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers in mobilising the masses to come for testing and vaccination. He advised the health department to restart telephonic counselling to COVID -19 positive people in the district.
DMO Dr. R. Tatan briefed on the implementation of MMRKK scheme in the district, the break up of funds to be utilised for purchase of medicines, engagement of manpower, purchase of Covid material, civil works etc. He also advised the MOs to be proactive in their work in these difficult times.
