Tawang Festival 'called off" after sudden demise of MLA Jambey Tashi.

The Tawang Festival Committee on late evening of November 2 announced that the much awaited Tawang Festival which was scheduled to be held from November 4-6 has been called off.
The decision was taken as a tribute to the untimely
demise of MLA Jambey Tashi on November 4th morning.
Jambey Tashi was the Member of the Legislative
Assembly 1-Lumla (ST) Assembly Constituency cum Advisor to Minister,
Planning and RWD, Govt. Of Arunachal
Pradesh.
MLA Tashi was 48 at the time of his death and he
passed away in Guwahati's Downtown Hospital after a brief illness.
The announcement of the calling off of the Tawang
Festival was announced in the official Facebook page of the Tawang Festival.
The announcement read,
"TAWANG FESTIVAL 2022 CALLED OFF
Due to the sudden demise of one of the most dynamic
and iconic youth leaders of Arunachal Pradesh, the honourable MLA cum Advisor,
RWD & Planning, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh late Shri Jambey Tashi, the
festival celebration committee has decided to call off the Tawang festival 2022
as a mark of respect and tribute to this visionary great leader of the masses.
May Lord Buddha bless his soul. We offer our prayers for his blessed rebirth.

The much awaited three day Tawang Festival was taking
place after 2 years. It didn't take place due to the pandemic for last two
years i.e., 2020 and 2021.
The festival which is celebrated every year except for
last two years is a festival showcasing the culture, tradition, music of the
people of Arunachal Pradesh and especially Tawang.
The festival is also a boost to tourism as tourists
from all parts of the world come to experience the three day cultural fest.
And not just the tourist but popular artist local and
international are part of this huge fest.
The breathtakingly beautiful Tawang lies in the
Northwestern part of the state of Arunachal Pradesh in Northeast India. The
place is known for its captivating sightseeing spots.
