Tallest National flag in entire Northeast India unfurled in Manipur.

The
Union Home Minister, Amit Shah on Friday, January 6, 2022 unveiled a 165 feet
tall tricolor at the historic Azad Hind Fauj headquarters in Moirang, Manipur.
According
to an official press release by Ministry of Home Affairs, the 165 feet tall
tricolor is the tallest national flag in the entire Northeast.
This
is the same place where Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s INA hoisted the flag back
in the year 1944.
The
Union Home Minister took to his Twitter handle and writes, “Immensely proud to
unveil a 165 feet long Tiranga, the tallest in North East at the historic ‘Azad
Hind Fauj’ headquarters in Moirang, where Netaji’s INA hoisted the Tiranga in
1944. The Tiranga will keep reminding us of the heroes of our freedom struggle
and inspire the youth.”
While
the CM of Manipur, N Biren Singh tweeted, “After Netaji’s INA hoisted the
tricolor flag for the first time here at Moirang, Manipur in 1944, history has
been scripted again today as Hon’ble Union Minister, Shri @AmitShah ji unfurled
the 165 ft tall Tricolour which is the tallest National flag in North-East
India.”
Talking
about the background/history of the place, the CM writes, “The INA Headquarters
was set up by Netaji Subhas Chandra bose himself. The flagpole has been erected
at the INA, Advance Headquarters in Moirang to honor the Azad Hind Fauj’s
struggle during India’s freedom movement and to keep the spirit of patriotism
alive.”
The
CM also thanks the Union Home Minister for unfurling the flag and by doing so,
the CM says, the Union Home Minister have invoked a sense of patriotism among
the youths, among the new generations and at the same time, educate them about
the freedom fighters and their sacrifices during the freedom struggle.

in the North-East. This will renew the sense of patriotism & educate the
new generations about freedom fighters and their sacrifices,” CM tweeted.
Apart
from the unfurling ceremony, the Union Minister also inaugurated and laid the
foundation stone of 21 development projects worth Rs. 1,311 crore at Moirang,
Manipur.
The
Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Amit Shah further inaugurated a Meducal
College of worth Rs. 46 crore at Chrachandpur and unveils 122 feet tall Marjing
polo statue of worth Rs. 39 crore.
