Taliban say everyone is forgiven, assert women rights will be honored under Islamic law

The Taliban on the 17th of August boldly stated, "we do not have any enmity towards anyone and we have pardoned everyone"
Addressing a press conference, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said, " we will reach a settlement through which an Islamic government will be established in the country and all the rights of women will be honored as per Islamic law. “Women can work in the health sector and other sectors where they are needed…there will be no discrimination against them,”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security against the backdrop of the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan this evening.
Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman attended the meeting, besides senior officials. Those present in the meeting also included NSA Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, as also India’s Ambassador to Afghanistan Rudrendra Tandon, who returned to India on Tuesday itself.
Meanwhile, the Taliban in Afghanistan have ordered their fighters to maintain discipline and not enter any diplomatic buildings or interfere with embassy vehicles, and for ordinary people to go about their business as usual. Earlier today, the Taliban also urged women to join its government, trying to calm the citizens who not only tried to hide but even try to flee from the rule at the airport.
A very interesting statement that the Taliban said was that they can assure the world that Afghanistan will no longer be a hub for poppy cultivation or for the drug business. Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid also said that they require the world to support them.
