Stadium at Yupia to be the largest Multipurpose Sports Stadium

YUPIA: The outdoor Stadium in Yupia will serve the state in a multipurpose manner. With a seating capacity of 15,000 people, the outdoor stadium will also be the largest of all the stadiums in the state.

The outdoor stadium at Yupia was constructed under the UPA government when former HCM Shri Nabam Tuki laid down the foundation stone in the year 2014. The construction went in a slow-paced manner until 2018, which involved many hurdles and challenges among the authorities and officials responsible for the construction.
As of the 5th of November 2021, the SPACE had been informed that the outdoor stadium is on the verge of completion after years of hurdles.
The Stadium amounts to the total cost of Rs 59.48 crore with the facilities of running track, football ground, long jump, high jump, discus throw, Gym, etc.

The urban development (UD) department, is now waiting for the government to sanction the revised estimate submitted for completion of work.
According to UD Deputy Director Gyamar Tachung, there are some corrections which are needed to be dealt with before the stadium is handed over to the sports department.
The state government has shown a helping and things shall fall accordingly. The stadium is said to be almost on the verge of completion, the team SPACE has visited the site and had a glance at it.
Meanwhile, the officials have informed that the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Naharlagun is also being constructed by the UD department and the work is about to be completed. Sports Director Tadar Appa has asserted that the state's largest outdoor stadium will be completed soon.
As per the MPL live news the delay in completing the stadiums in Aalo the authorities are yet to confirm the duration of its completion.
