Sex Racket busted in Assam's Nagaon, 17 arrested, 5 girls including 1 minor rescued.

As per reports, the Nagaon Police on Thursday night busted a major sex racket at a roadside dhaba, Bhugdoi Dhaba in Bebejia, Nagaon and 17 persons including the owner of the dhaba arrested. Meanwhile, 5 women including a minor were rescued.

Doley, Superintendent of Police, while briefing the media, said the police
received several tips regarding the sex racket at the Bhugdoi Dhaba in the
Borghat locality, following which, a police team led by Additional
Superintendent of Police (Crime) Rupjyoti Kalita conducted a raid at the Dhaba.
Doley
said, the police raid led to the nabbing of 17 people who were customers,
employees, broker and also the owner of the Dhaba.
The owner
of the Dhaba has been identified as Ratul Hazarika while the prime broker who
was behind bringing the girls and deals with customers has been identified as
Dulal Ahmed.
The
clients have also confessed to the offence stating Dulal was responsible in
helping them to get access to women in exchange of payment.
The SP
further informed that the police rescued 5 women including a minor who were
being used and out of which the broker and the owner were making income.
The SP
said based on these; the police will also charge them with human trafficking
charges.
Doley
said the girls were forced to be part of the business hence they will be
treated as victims.
She
further said, the girls were from different parts of Assam and one from Kolkata
and they were sold for a minimum rate of Rs 1000.
When
police raided the place, cash, bottles of alcohol, pregnancy test kits, condoms
and vehicles were recovered the Dhaba, she added.
