RKMS Narrotam Nagar celebrates it Golden Jubilee; Deputy CM Chowna Mein unveils a 12 feet statue of Lord Buddha and inaugurates various other developmental activities.

Nagar, Arunachal Pradesh, January 23 (The Space): Deputy Chief Minister Chowna
Mein on Monday unveiled a Buddha Statue and inaugurated various developmental
activities at Ramakrishna Mission School, Narottam Nagar in Tirap district of Arunachal
Pradesh at the schools’s second phase of its Golden Jubilee Celebration.
The
school also observed the 125th anniversary of the foundation of its
headquarters Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission on the Birthday of Netaji
Subhas Chandra Bose.
Apart
from the chief guest, Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein, Chief Secretary of
Arunachal Pradesh, Dharmendra, Minister of PHE & WS, DoTCL , Wangki Lowang,
Principal Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Kaling Tayeng, MLAs Wanglian
Lowangdong, Wanglam Sawin, and Chakat
Aboh, Chief Engineer ( High Way) of Arunachal Pradesh Sumnyak Sumnyan
(Retd), Commandant, 6th Assam Rifles graced the occasion.
The occasion was also graced by Swami
Suviranandaji, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission that
added a feather in the cap.
At the event, Deputy CM Chowna Mein along with the other dignitaries unveiled a 12 feet statue of Lord Buddha seated on a 12 feet pedestal, a plaque naming the new road, “Vivekananda Marg”, laid the foundation stone of a Conventional Hall at the school premises and also attended and distributed prizes at the Annual Prize Giving Ceremony of the school.
The
construction of the Convention hall had been proposed by Chief Minister Pema
Khandu during the first phase of the celebration held on May 2022.
In
the public meeting of a gathering of 3000 people including monks from different
parts of North East India and Bhantes from Assam & Arunachal Pradesh along
with the local populace and institution inmates, Swami Achyuteshananda,
Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar, welcomed and thanked all the
dignitaries for accepting his request and for their presence at Tirap while the
Principal of the school, Swami Jneyananda, briefed the activities of the year
2021–22.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein in his speech elaborated the humanising power of Buddha, and how he came up with the concept of Sangha first. He put forward his insight on Swamiji and Buddha and mentioned the identical approaches to mankind that both these great masters shared. Swamiji favoured Buddha's love and compassion for the humanity.
The
DCM further congratulated Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission for completing
a golden run of 125 years and praised its perpetual effort to peddle love to
millions and serve the humanity.
He
recalled his memories of an infant Arunachal Pradesh and how Arunachal Pradesh
and Ramakrishna Mission struggled so hard on their way and successfully made
their presence felt.
Furthermore,
the DCM talks about the importance of discipline and reading in one’s life and
also brings everyone’s attention on the existence of a unity in our nation
despite having diverse cultures and communities. In this context, the DCM urges
the people of the state and especially the young generation to know the rich history
and culture of the Arunachal Pradesh.
Mein
further put forward the idea of considering Narottam Nagar and Namsai serving
as a tourist destination. He proposed the concept of cultural integration and
brought to the notice the connectivity which is needed between Narottam Nagar
and the rest of Arunachal.
He
says the connectivity between the two can be achieved through cultural
integration.
The
other dignitaries also shared their viewpoints and praised Ramakrishna Math and
Ramakrishna Mission in general and Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar in
particular for their contribution to the society.
Revered
Swami Suvirananda, on the other hand, who presided over the gathering thanked
everyone for their precious presence, talked about the 'yagna' which
Ramakrishna Math and Mission performs all over the world, every second through
its works for the betterment of everyone and wished a very bright future to
Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar.
He talked about the immense influence that
Vivekananda has on the west, how the spirit of nationalism and service to the
nation has been channelized into Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose through the
writings of Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Mission.
Further,
in his speech, he reminisced about the experiences of his long two decades of
service at Ramakrishna Mission, Aalo. And he presented before the audience
Swamij’s view of a progressive India and how India should be premised upon the
upliftment and development of each section of the society.
The
vote of thanks was presented by Chief Engineer (Highway) Sumnyan.
A plantation drive was also held during the celebration where the Deputy Chief Minister and others have planted saplings of Banyan and Peepal trees at the school premises.
The
event turned out to be a successful one with each everyone’s cooperation and
assistance till the end and especially with the cooperation of the district
administration under the able guidance Hento Karga, DC, Tirap and execution by Vishakha
Yadav, ADC, Deomali, Shri Kardak Riba, SP, Tirap who made the function
memorable to all sections of the society.
