Parshuram Kund festival to be held from January 12 to 16, 2023. PM Modi shares glimpses and said, “a unique way to explore Arunachal Pradesh.”

Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, January 8, shared a tweet thread by Chief
Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu.
The
PM shared glimpses of the much awaited festival of Arunachal Pradesh, i.e.,
Parshuram Kund Festival which is scheduled to be held from January 12 to 16.

Sharing
the video, PM Modi wrote, “Looks like a blissful experience, a unique
opportunity to explore Arunachal Pradesh.”
The
video which both the Prime Minister and Chief Minister shared on Twitter is a
promotional video of the upcoming festival which is compiled by the Lohit
district administration.
Chief
Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday, virtually inaugurated the official website
and unveiled the official logo of the festival.
“With
improved roads, your sojourn will be of a lifetime to the place encompassed by
magnificent Mishmi Hills & dense forests. Official website launched today
will enable us to efficiently manage 5-day fest. Celebrate Makar Sankranti in
Arunachal. We're waiting for you,” CM tweeted.
Apart
from the CM, the virtual ceremony was joined by Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna
Mein and Member of Parliament, Tapir Gao in the presence of MLA Dasanglu Pul
and former Minister Dr. Mohesh Chai.
Visitors
can book their trip or can get access to various informations related to the
festival by logging into the parshuram-kund.in.
Deputy CM Chowna Mein took to his Twitter and
wrote, “Massive transformation of the Parshuram Kund is being carried out under
the PRASAD scheme to accommodate increased tourist footfalls to the picturesque
destination in Lohit district and transform the sacred site into one of the
biggest pilgrimage centres in NE India.
Chief
Minister Khandu further appreciates the Lohit district adminsitration for their
relentless work towards a successful festival ahead by arranging the necessary services,
arrangements be it online or offine.
“This
time we are expecting around 1.5-lakh pilgrims during the festival. The
district administration of Lohit has done an exceptional work in improving the
road connectivity and other facilities for smooth conduction of the festival.
My compliments to the officials for promoting the festival in such an organised
and grand manner,” the CM added.
The
CM also said that due to the visitors visiting the site almost throughout the
year, the place is already a major tourist attraction and hence the locals are
already benefitted from it.
“Locals
of the area are already benefiting from tourists visiting the holy site
all-round the year. In the long run the Mela will boost tourism economy of the
entire state. Let us together work for making this festival a grand success,”
he said.
According
to popular beliefs, the place is known for washing all the sins once you dip in
the holy water. Many also claim that, only people who’s parents passed away,
both mother and father, should only visit the pilgrimage site.
Every
year, thousands of devotees visit the holy place every year in Tezu especially
in the month of January during the
Parshuram Kund mela.
