North-East Frontier Railway Resumes Murkongselek-Dekargaon train service

ASSAM: On the 15th of December 2021, To fulfill the demand of passengers, Northeast Frontier Railway had decided to resume the daily train service between Dekargaon - Murkongselek.

Moreover, it has been decided to run one weekly special train between New Tinsukia and Puri for eight trips from each direction.

According to the Sentinel, The train will run leaving New Tinsukia from 12th December 2021 to 30th January 2022 and leaving Puri from 15th December 2021 to 2nd February 2022. On the other hand, Train No. 13161 Kolkata - Balurghat Express and Train No. 

The Murkongselek-Dekargaon broad gauge passenger train service finally resumed its operation after long years of Covid-19 and lockdown.

The express train arrived at Murkongselek station (Assam) near Ruksin town of East Siang district at around 1.45 pm and left the station for Dekargaon at 3.00 pm, it shall commit to its daily routine from today.

According to the North East Frontier Railway, the passenger train will stop at almost all stations normally along the route for the convenience of the passengers. Both online and offline mode of booking tickets has been started, but the reservation facility is yet to be resumed.

People in Assam expressed deep anguish on the hike in fare price but in the meantime fet content to have the train service resumed, However, it has been informed that Murkongselek-Guwahati Express (Lachit) and Murkongselek-Rangiya are also running along the route regularly.

According to the NF Railway:

Train No. 15813 Dekargaon - Murkongselek express will run on every day leaving from Dekargaon at 04-45 hours to reach Murkongselek at 13-45 hours. In the return direction, Train No. 15814 Murkongselek - Dekargaon express will run on every day leaving from Murkongselek at 15-00 hours to reach Dekargaon at 00-30 hours next day. Special Train: Train No. 05970 New Tinsukia - Puri weekly superfast special will run for eight trips leaving New Tinsukia on every Sunday at 22-30 hours w.e.f. 12th December 2021 to reach Puri at 11-00 hours on Tuesday. In the return direction, Train No. 05969 Puri - New Tinsukia weekly superfast special will run for eight trips leaving Puri on every Wednesday at 05-00 hours w.e.f. 15th December 2021 to reach New Tinsukia at 16-45 hours on Thursday.
