Neiphiu Rio and Conrad Sangma sworn in as Nagaland’s and Meghlaya’s CM respectively.

On
Tuesday, Neiphiu Rio and Conrad K. Sangma were sworn in as the Chief Ministers
of Nagaland and Meghalaya, respectively.
The oath taking ceremony of the both the Chief Ministers were attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda and other dignitaries in Meghlaya’s capital Shillong and Nagaland’s Kohima.

Neiphiu Rio, became Nagaland’s CM for the fifth time while Conrad Sangma became Meghalya CM for the second consecutive term. Rio heads the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), an ally of BJP party and Conrad heads the National People’s Party (NPP), Meghalaya.
Apart from these, two Deputy CM in each of the states were also sworn-in on Tuesday. Prestone Tynsong, who was also the Deputy CM in the previous govt. and Sniawbhalang Dhar, both from the NPP sworn in as the Deputy Chief Ministers of Meghalaya. In Nagaland, NDPP’s TR Zeliang and BJP’s Yanthungo Patton were sworn in as the Deputy Chief Ministers.
