STATE: Lately, Social media was caught with the hullabaloo citing an order from NSCN (IM) against the MLAs of three districts of the state to blatantly withdraw their support from the Pema Khandu Government. The fuss hovered around the eyes and ears of every denizen across the state.
Why in the News?
Parliament had in August passed the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2021, seeking to change the nomenclature of certain tribes from Arunachal Pradesh mentioned in the Constitution (Scheduled Tribe) Order of 1950.
The official removal of the ‘Naga’ tag from certain communities inhabiting the three districts viz Tirap, Changlang and Longding clubbed as TCL has been one of the main reasons behind the anguish among the NCSN (IM).
self-styled ‘colonel’ K. Aso Lori, the NSCN (I-M) said the erasure of the word ‘Naga’ from communities hitherto recognized as “any other Naga tribe” has “blatantly insulted and humiliated the sentiment and rights of the Nagas of TCL”.
What is the Update Now?
The NSCN (IM) accused HCM Pema Khandu on acting against the interest of the Naga People. The NSCN (IM) further mentioned that all the TCL legislators would be considered traitors if they fail to adhere to the order and uphold the rights of the Nagas in Arunachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile the Union namely "Save Arunachal Save Indigenous" expressed their stand on this issue.
Chairman Debia Muj stated, " SASI's stand is clear, moreover whenever such tense arises from the insurgence group from another state, the state government tends to keep mum rather than have to convene a meeting on how to deal with it."
Mr.Muj bellowed that every human being has to perish one or another day henceforth the government need not be frightened on the letters from whosoever.
Muj further stated, " the state of Nagaland was created way before the state of Arunachal Pradesh, and their present claimed of TCL inhabitants as their own were never looked into, this proves that the region was never part of Nagaland"
"The very first objective behind the creation of NSCN was to get freedom and demand for the separate nation, but later on it went on to demand for a supra-state and a greater Nagalim considerably, what is your agenda?" bellowed Muj.
He further questioned, "why the NSCN bring in Arunachal Pradesh every time".
"we will not lend any inch of the land of our state" he added.
State Government has to retaliate against any insurgency's threatening, added SASI Chairman.
He further concluded that the state of Arunachal Pradesh is a peaceful state, but it doesn't mean that when the time requires it won't fight back.
