MS Dhoni part of Defence Ministry committee to give a review and facelift to NCC

NATIONAL: MS Dhoni has been associated with the Indian Army and holds the honorary rank of Lt Colonel. Former Indian cricket captain is now a part of a committee constituted by the Ministry of Defence for a comprehensive review of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) to make it more relevant. The committee is headed by former parliamentarian Baijayant Panda, the ministry of defence said.
Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra is also part of the committee that has 15 members apart from the Former India Cricket Captain
The Defence Ministry stated that, “The Terms of Reference of the Committee, inter-alia, broadly provide for suggesting measures which can empower NCC cadets to contribute more effectively towards nation-building and national developmental efforts in various sectors; propose measures for gainful engagement of its Alumni for the betterment of the organisation as a whole and to study/recommend best practices of similar international youth organisations for inclusion in the NCC curriculum,”
