Jawa Motorcycles launches Jawa 42 Tawang Edition.

Jawa has launched a new limited edition model of the Jawa 42 motorcycle, the Jawa 42 Tawang Edition, unveiled on the occasion of the Torgya festival in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh by Mr Tsering Tashi, MLA Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, Mr Sonam Chombay, Commissioner to CM and Mr Oken Tayeng, Chairman – Adventure Tour Operator Association of India, NE Chapter.
Inspired
by the mythical wind horse of pan-Himalayan lore, the Lungta which signifies
prosperity and good fortune is a limited edition, limited to just 100 units and
which will be exclusively for the customers of Arunachal Pradesh & its neighbouring
regions.
The motorcycle
costs Rs 20,000 more than the standard version i.e., the regular Jawa 42 model.
Although at first glance, the Tawang edition looks similar to the standard version, it actually changed its look a little bit. The bike got the Lungta motif on the fuel tank and a special inscription on the fenders & side panels.
For the
additional money the customers are paying, Jawa is offering a bronze medallion,
a customised helmet and a riding jacket and accessories like headlight grille,
bar-end mirrors, rear grab rail and crash guard along with the special edition motorcycle.
The motorcycles also get a unique numbered bronze medallion to mark the special
edition units.
The Jawa 42 Tawang Edition which is based on Jawa 42 Sports Stripe Allstar Black is similar on the mechanical front with that of the standard version. The new edition retains 293cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine which delivers 27.33 PS of power and 26.84 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
Marking
this occasion, Mr. Ashish Singh Joshi, CEO of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, said, “As
motorcyclists, we have been in love with the breathtaking vistas and amazing
roads that Arunachal has to offer. The rich culture and the associated legends
make the ride enriching and that’s exactly what we’re honouring with the Jawa
42 Tawang Edition. The Lungta signifies well-being, and we wish riding here to
be a fulfilling experience for everyone. The reward of riding hidden in every
corner makes this a paradise for every Jawa and Yezdi rider in the country.”
