SEPPA: DC Seppa Shri Pravimal Abhishek Polumatla IAS has lately addressed the media here in Seppa, on the incident in connection to the Kameng river. On the 29th of October, as highlighted by team SPACE, the Kameng River had abruptly turned muddy and darkened, unlike its normal flow, left denizens brooding over the issue & widespread perplexed opinions. However, by the evening hour, the DFDO had informed on the said matter, which had been updated on the thespace.media web portal.

"I was in Chayangtajo when this incident was reported " stated Shri Pravimal Abhishek Polumatla IAS while briefing the media
He informed that he received the whereabouts of the news in the morning hour of 29th October 2021, around 8:30-9:00 O'Oclock, wherein the reports on the change of colour of the River Kameng and the case of fish dying aftermath of the incident was received.
He provided the preliminary report submitted by the DFDO and stated, "The TDS (Total Dissolve Substances) was very high compared to the normal water, hence it indicates high turbidity in the river, which could be mainly because of mud-flow in the river"
DC informed that the exact reason is yet to be known.
Having inspected physically, DC Pravimal, mentioned that all the tributaries in and around the region were clean and flowing normally except for the Kameng river.
KVK, East Kameng district has also submitted a report to the North East Regional Institute for Land and Water Resources. Further, the institute has sent the report to the Central Water Commission_added DC
Further, the DC Stated, "We have to do the proper Scientific Understanding and Analysis" to unearth the exact reason"
DC has informed that a request to the State Government has been submitted wherein the state Remote sensing agency has been necessitated to deploy over the region to have further understanding. A similar incident had occurred in the Siang river and the cause behind it was the landslide.
"The incident needs to be ascertained scientifically," said DC
Yasum Sonam the resident of Sepppa had further informed the SPACE that the DC had urged the denizens to avoid spreading rumours and not believe in false misinformation.
"On 29th of October an advisory notice was issued by the Circle Officer" added Sonam
