Governor extends Oriah Festival greetings

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) has extended his greetings to the people of the State in general and to the Wancho brethren in particular on the joyous occasion of Oriah Festival.
In his message to the people on the occasion, the Governor said that Oriah Festival is celebrated to evoke the blessings of Almighty for the wellbeing of all. This festival has helped the community to preserve the age-old traditions and customs of the Wancho Tribe. He expressed his hope that the festival will further strengthen the emotional integration, brotherhood and amity in the society.
The Governor said that the festival celebrations appreciably relate to cultural and ethnic concepts, thoughts and action. These festivals also motivate the community members to remain connected to their roots and contribute positively to social cohesion. Festivities urge the community elders, who share their wisdom and experiences, which lead to the setting of templates for maintaining unity in the Fold, he said while appealing to the elders of Wanchos to avail of the opportunity to work in unison for promotion and rejuvenation of the rich and vibrant past of the Wancho Tribe.
On this festive occasion, I join my Wancho people in offering our prayers to the Almighty for peace, prosperity, wellbeing and shield from COVID-19 for all, the Governor said in his message
