Former Miss Arunachal receives Backlash at the aftermath of Mtv Super Model of the year season 2 telecast
When the state of Arunachal Pradesh was clutched in the shadows of controversial debate pertaining to the Marriage and Inheritance of Property rights bill, another crucial news infuriated the already existing ablazed masses.
The former Miss Arunachal, Roshni Dada one of the contestants from the state making it to one of India’s coveted modeling contests, landed in unprecedented controversy.
Having watched the most awaited video of the Super Model of the year, the masses were fueled into disappointment and anguish over her statement on the show, Denizens alleged Roshni Dada made ‘false statements on women’s freedom and male child preferences in Arunachal Pradesh.
“Our former @MissArunachal @roshni_dada has scripted history by being d first girl from the state to participate in the popular TV show @MTV Supermodel of the Year which is being aired on MTV,” tweeted Miss Arunachal Organization via its official Twitter handle.
Social Media was stormed with criticism against her statement, where the former Miss Arunachal was seen stating, "humare community jaha se me belong karti hoon, jahape itna freedom Nahi hota, larki ko esa nahi karna aur humare wahape na proper fashion show hotahe, na proper photographs and all, nothing is nothing there, aaj yeh logo ko itna pata nahi hain, toh my parents are always there for me but humare society is like , they are more into like parai karo, job karo, you are a girl, you need to get marry and give birth to a male child.........."
The several sections of citizens rant out their dissapoinment through various posts and even several memes were observed floating across the social media.
Questions like "Arunachal me kaha freedom nahi miltahe" "what more freedom do you want" "why can't you at least acknowledge the social progress of the state" etc were seen bellowed across the social media.
Meanwhile, another post was doing rounds on social media platforms that caught the attention of people from Arunachal and completely flipped the scenario. “Please apologize for your immature statement,” read a post by an All Monpa Students’ Union (AMSU) – Amsu Monyul, demanding an apology from her on Facebook. According to the post, the student's body was happy and proud that the former beauty pageant winner participated in the MTV show, but were saddened by some ‘facts’ shared by her.
On the other hand, some sections were seen supporting her statement saying, "whatever she has said was completely true" whereas some even went on to say, "Polygamy is the dark truth of the state, and the freedom in the state is not the freedom that the men enjoy, the women's freedom that they enjoy is nothing but a restricted freedom"
After hundreds of hues and cries over her statement, the former Miss Arunachal finally broke her silence and gave clarification from her side stating, "If I get a chance to reshoot my introduction, I would not change a single word. I am glad I was able to voice out for so many girls out there. If I ever get a bigger platform I will again speak out about the matter and all the trolling I got from my people just for sharing the bitter truth of my personal experience. Those who know me and are close to me know my story is NOT FAKE. Those people who are saying they haven't seen or experienced anything like that know you are blessed and I am glad. I never said all people in Arunachal are like that it's MY ONLY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. "
Roshni Dada on her social account, openly, went on to say, "SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL AND AFTER EVERYTHING I HAVE SEEN AND EXPERIENCED I WANTED TO SHARE MY STORY AND BE A VOICE FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN RELATE TO ME. SO TELL ME WHY WOULDNT I USE THE PLATFORM TO VOICE OUT? And on MTV We were asked to share our statements and messages. So even after knowing this, you want to share your shitty dump thoughts feel free"
Social Media seems to split into two where if one was busy ranting disappointment but the other felt immensely proud of her.
However, individuals from Fashion Industry also reflected their sadness, in one such wherein the Event Manager and Entrepreneur, Jack Taniya Buddh expressed his despondency and sadness by writing, "Roshni really proud of you but Sympathy milne kuch be... Kya Matlab hai proper fashion show nehi hota hai na photographer hai... Aj Tum jo level par ho miss Arunachal Organiser team ka bajaise se hai.. Northeast India Fashion Week google Karo Kaha ka hai dekhoi.. Aur har festival par dekho fashion show hoga .. Photography jo humlog ka Photographer karta hai bahar ka log be appreciate Karta hai.. Fashion photographer ka award mil be Chuka hai aur Arunachal ka designer log national Costume and International costume award be jet Chuka hai and lakme fashion week se lekar London fashion week takh ja Chuka hai .
