First Lady of the State graces International Women’s Day WD Celebrations at RGU

The First Lady of the State Smt Neelam Misra participated as Chief Guest in the International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration at Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills, Doimukh on 8th March 2021. The First Lady of the State also inaugurated food stalls and the exhibition.
Speaking on the occasion, the First Lady of the State commended the women, including ASHA and Anganwadi workers, who immensely contributed in the fight against COVID Pandemic. She said that during the pandemic, it is the women, who encountered the toughest challenges. Be it the government servant, working girls in corporate houses or home makers, they faced the pandemic with diligence and overcame the situation. The women today, after the COVID 19 pandemic have emerged stronger, she said.
The First Lady of the State said that in the present scenario, the women are second to none in every field. They are more qualified and better in many sectors than the males. She exhorted them to excel in the society and country in every field.
The First Lady of the State congratulated Professor Saket Kushwaha, Vice Chancellor, RGU and the University Fraternity for progressing from 100th position to the second position in the all India Ranking amongst the Central Universities. She hoped that the RGU would continue to perform well.
Later the First Lady of the State inaugurated the Food Stalls and the Exhibition. She also gave away the prizes to the winners in the competition of poetry recitals, painting and photography conducted on the occasion.
A ‘Diversity Walk’, participated by the women and children of the University in their traditional attire, reflecting the cultural diversity of the University Campus was the highlight of the Day’s programme. The University fraternity also felicitated ‘COVID-19 Warriors’, including doctors, police personnel and health workers on the occasion.
Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University, Prof. Saket Kushwala, Chairperson of the Function, Dr. V. Kushwaha, Joint Secretary, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh Ms Mamata Riba, APCS, contemporary author and PR Consultant, Ms Kaninika Misra, faculty and beloved students of Rajiv Gandhi University participated in the function.
