Demands for Withdrawal of Padma Shri on Kangana Ranaut widespread among masses in the country

NATION: Kangana Ranaut is known for giving powerful performances but in recent years, she's been in the news more for her controversial statements. From the hullabaloo of the Relationship with Hrithik Roshan, ward of words with the Shiv Sena's leader, or the recent controversial statement of a row over the Independence day's remark, Ranaut has left no stone unturned to perturbed her own state of mind along with her fans and many political members across the country. Actor Kangana Ranaut was honoured with the Padma Shri in New Delhi on Monday. The actor was among a host of celebrities like singer Adnan Sami, filmmaker Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor, who were also honoured with the highest civilian award at the ceremony. For the occasion, Kangana chose a saree from her trusted and favourite designer Sabyasachi Mukerjee, and she looked surreal in it. Even her fans thought the same.
The Congress Party has stormed outside the gate of Ranaut's house bellowing, "Murda baad Murda baad Kangana Ranaut Murdabad". The congress karyakartas outrightly slammed Kangana's statement mentioning she has gone mental whereas late freedom fighters didn't sacrifice their precious life in vain, but for the freedom of the country.

The masses were also heard saying, "this lady who has been banned on Twitter because of her hate speech has been unfortunately conferred with Padma Shri award, We don't understand what's wrong with the BJP government, The lady has hearted the sentiment of many Indian Patriot, our freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev has been outrightly disrespected, we want her Padma Shri to be returned and ask forgiveness to the Indians"
She said on Thursday that the freedom gained in 1947 "was bheek [a handout] and real freedom was attained in 2014".
A vocal supporter of PM Narendra Modi, she was obviously referring to his victory in the 2014 general elections.
Critics said her comments insulted India's freedom fighters, but some on social media also supported her.
