BJP and allies retains power in Northeastern states, Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya in the assembly elections 2023.

The ruling BJP-IPFT (Indigenous Progressive Front of Tripura) alliance retains power in Tripura, secured a second term by winning 33 of the state's 60 seats.

While the BJP won 32 seats, IPFT won just 1 seat
and together they won with 33 seats out of the total 60 seats.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took tweeted, "The double engine government will keep working for the state's progress. I laud our party workers for their hardwork which ensured this result".
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha attributed the party’s victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president J.P. Nadda’s leadership besides the legwork of its grassroots workers.
“We shall continue with the good work initiated in 2018 and take Tripura forward,” he said.
In Nagaland, the BJP and alliance NDPP (Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party) have won 37 seats. While the BJP won 12 seats in the 60-member Assembly, the NDPP won 25 and together they won 37 seats.

The state also has scripted history when it got their first women MLAs since Independence. Hekhani Jakhalu and Salhoutuonuo Kruse of the ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) are greenhorns in politics but defeated the sitting MLAs in Western Angami and Dimapur-III seats respectively as reported by news agency PTI.
Meghalaya, on the other hand, was left with a hung house with the Conrad K Sangma led National People's Party winning 26 seats out of 59 Assembly constituencies. While BJP won only 2 seats.

Even though NPP received the highest never of seats, it still needs majority mark which is 31.
NPP leader and chief minister Conrad Sangma has reached out to the BJP to seek support, according to Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Sarma informed that Meghalaya CM Sangma called the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah to seek support to form the government in the state.
"Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma called Amit Shah ji, Hon'ble Home Minister and sought his support and blessings in forming the new Government," tweeted CM Sarma.
He further added that BJP President JP Nadda advised the state unit of the party to support NPP to form the govt.
"Adaraniya Sri JP Nadda ji, the national president of the BJP has advised the state unit of BJP, Meghalaya to support the National People's Party in forming the next government in Meghalaya," Assam CM added.
Later, Meghalaya CM Sangma tweeted where he posted a letter sent by BJP Meghalaya where it stated to support the NPP in forming the next government in Meghalaya.
Sangma tweeted, "Thank you @BJP4Meghalaya for reaching out to the NPP and for extending your support to our party to form the Government. We will continue to work together to serve Meghalaya and its people."
