Assam Government distributes appointment letters to over 11,000 candidates today in Guwahati.

Amidst corruption
practices allegations reported in the past few weeks in Assam in the recently
held Assam Direct recruitment, the Assam Government distributed appointment
letters to 11,236 posts in 24 government departments stating the recruitment
process was done in a completely neat and transparent manner based on merits
and eligibility.
The ceremonial function took place at Khanapara Veterinary field in Guwahati, today, on Friday, September 23. The appointed letters were distributed by the Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma while Ranjeet Kumar Das, Minister for Panchayat & Rural Dev., Atul Bora, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Keshab Mahanta, Minister Heath & Family Welfare, Dr Ranoj Pegu, Minister for Education and Welfare of Plain Tribe & Backward Classes, Ajanta Neog, Minister of Finance of Assam and other top officials of various departments graced the occasion.
The appointments
are a step towards fulfilling the promise of one lakh jobs by the Govt. of
Assam, in addition to the already appointed 27,737 candidates.
Assam
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma states that the recruitment has been done in
a very transparent manner based on merit and eligibility and he also urges the
newly appointed ones to not fall for the trap of corruption but instead fight
against it and work with dedication. CM also congratulates to the appointees
and their parents on receiving the appointment letters.
“Our
government has completed this recruitment process based on merit and
eligibility with a completely neat and transparent process. The recruitment
process has spread joy among many poor families in the state. At this happy
moment, I wish my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all the young
men and women who have received the appointment letter as well as their parents.
I urge every newly appointed youth to take a resolution that they will never
encourage corruption in their career,” CM states in an official media release.
Further,
he informs that the recruitment process for filling up 26,000 Class III &
IV posts has already started, and apart from that, advertisements for more than
10,000 posts will soon be published aiming for self-employment of 2 lakh youth
in the future.
The Home
& Political Department appointed the highest number of appointees i.e., 5,335
appointees among the 21 departments, while the Department of Industries &
Public Enterprise, DoHUA, and Information and Public Relations appointed the
least number, i.e., 1 at each Department.
Earlier on
September 21, 2022, the CM announces the distribution of the appointment letter
ceremony and the department-wise total number of appointees through a tweet.
“We commit, we deliver- Major milestone in our drive to ensure one lakh jobs in Assam. Following 27,737 successful recruitments, GoA will now hand over appointment letters to 11,202 candidates in 21 govt depts on 23 September 2022 in a ceremonial function in Khanapara, Guwahati,” CM tweeted.
