Assam: CM laid foundation stone of several projects worth Rs 1,776 crore.

Sarma laid foundation stone of altogether seven infrastructure projects worth
Rs 1776 cr on Thursday, January 5, 2023.
The CM of Assam on
Thursday laid the foundation for a new Raj Bhawan at Kharguli in the presence
of the Governor of Assam, Jagdish Mukhi and the First lady, Prem Mukhi.
According to reports, the new Raj Bhawan will cover an area of 9,631 sq metres and will be built at 41.32 cr within 18 months.
The CM also laid the
foundation stone for the construction of the new Police Commissionerate at
Khanapara, Guwahati which will be completed in 24 months.
"The Rs 95-crore
building will house all departments and branches working under Commissioner of
Police, Guwahati and boost police administration in the city," he said.
Another foundation
laying ceremony was for the redevelopment of Guwahati Police Reserve Campus
where the govt. will spend Rs 544.44 crore which will also include residential
quarters for police personnel.
As part of the efforts
to make governance more citizen centric by making public services available
under a single roof, the CM kick-started development activities of an
integrated directorate complex at Betkuchi for Rs 808 crore.
"It will house
various government directorates spread across the city," Sarma said.
He then did Bhumi Pujan
for Integrated Kamrup (M) DC Office at Rupnagar, which will aid people-friendly
governance and to be built at a cost of Rs 58 cr.
"The G+2 building
will help people avail various public services as it will house all depts that
report to DC," CM tweeted.
The CM also announced
construction of two auditoriums where one inside the Srimanta Sankardeva
Kalakshetra premises which will be a 800 capacity auditorium to be built with
Rs 44.26 crore within 24 months and the other at Khanapara which is a 5000
capacity international auditorium and is a Rs 185-cr project to be completed
within 24 months.
