Arunachal-Nagaland gets direct railway connectivity; Nagaland CM flags off extension of Donyi Polo Express from Nagaland.

Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio flags off the extension of 15817/ 15818 Naharlagun-Guwahati Donyi Polo Express from Shokhuvi station in Nagaland on August 26, 2022.
Jacob Zhimomi, Minister of Public Health Engineering Department, Anshul Gupta, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway and many other important dignitaries graced the occasion.
"This is an alternate route for Nagaland and Manipur passengers to Guwahati", says Neiphiu Rio, CM of Nagaland.
The inaugural run took place from Shokhuvi railway station, Nagaland at 11 a.m to Naharlagun station, Arunachal Pradesh via Guwahati at 12.45 a.m today.
According to an official press release by Northeast Frontier Railway, the Donyi Polo Express has a total of 17 coaches and will run regularly from Naharlagun to Shokhuvi railway station with effect from August 27, 2022. There are about 18 stoppages throughout the route.
The Donyi Polo Express currently runs daily between Guwahati and Naharlagun.
