After Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress to launch follow-up campaign, Haath-Se-Haath Jodo Yatra.

Congress
will launch a two-month door-to-door campaign, Haath-Se-Haath across the
country to spread Rahul Gandhi's message, and a charge sheet against the
failure of the Modi government, stated senior leader Jairam Ramesh on Friday.
According
to the Congress MP Jairam Ramesh, the massive follow-up door-door campaign will
start from January 26, where the party leaders will distribute Rahul Gandhi's
message in the form of a letter and a charge sheet against the failure of the Modi
government which was released today, on January 21.
“The Congress has prepared a charge sheet against the Modi government that will be released in Delhi on Saturday. We will go with copies of the charge sheet along with the message of Rahul Gandhi to every household, every panchayat, and every block of the village in the country. The Hath Se Hath Jodo program will start from January 26 to March 26,” stated Jairam Ramesh.
According
to PTI, the charge sheet released on Saturday by the Congress terms the BJP as 'Bhrasht
Jumla Party' (meaning- a party of corruption and false promises) and alleged
that its mantra is "Kuch ka saath, khud ka vikas, sabke saath vishwasghat
(For the benefit of few, development for self and betrayal of everyone)",
an apparent swipe at the government's 'sabka-saath-sabka-vikas-sabka-vishwas-sabka-prayas'
slogan. The one-page 'charge sheet' shared by the Congress is divided into
three sections -- 'kuch ka saath', 'khud ka vikas' and 'sabke saath
vishwasghaat'.
According
to the news agency, ANI, Rahul Gandhi's letter will also be written in regional
languages.
Under
the campaign, Congress workers will be mobilized in all 2.5 lakh panchayats,
six lakh villages and 10 lakh polling booths to spread the message of Rahul
Gandhi, who launched the Kanyakumari-to-Kashmir yatra or Bharat Jodo Yatra to
remove hatred and spread the message of love, Ramesh added.
The
Bharat Jodo Yatra started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7, is in
its final phase and is scheduled to end at Srinagar on January 30 with Rahul
Gandhi hoisting the national flag at the party headquarters.
Bharat
Jodo Yatra is a fight for ideology, it was apolitical and not linked with the
election process but the Haath Se Haath Jodo campaign is a political campaign
as the election symbol of Congress, ‘Abhay Mudra’ is visible in the campaign,
the Abhiyan is said to have political packaging, stated Jairam Ramesh.
He
further says that the abhiyan is the second phase of the yatra and unlike the
BJY that went beyond politics and issues was raised on the basis of ideology by
Rahul Gandhi and it had nothing to do with elections. But in the Haath Se Haath
Jodo Abhiyan, we have a direct target — the failures of the Narendra Modi
government.”
Congress
leader and Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyaan in-charge RC Khuntia said that ot would
be a “serious matter” if any Congress leader or officer bearer or MP doesn’t
show up in the campaign.
“Haath
Se Haath Jodo Abhiyaan is the biggest campaign of Rahul Gandhi and Congress, in
such a situation, even after getting information about the campaign, if any
Congress leader, office bearer or MP does not participate in it, then it will
be a serious matter,” RC Khuntia said during a review meeting held at Rajasthan
Urban Development Minister Shanti Kumar Dhariwal’s residence in Jaipur.
According
to Congress’ General Secretary, K.C. Venugopal, the two month abhiyan which is
scheduled from January 26 to March 26 may also be extended for another two or
three months if required.
