Why in the News?
All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union have appealed to the student's bodies of the state from RGU, NERIST, NIT, JOTE, Himalayan University, Arunachal Law Academy, Lekhi, JGGLC jotecDNGC, DBC Jollang, Women's College Lekhi, Arunodaya University, Arunachal Community College, NE Homeopathy College, All B. Ed colleges in and around Itanagar, All Nursing & Paramedical Institutions, School Captain in and around ICR, etc to come together to join in the protest on 5th of October 2021 against the Offspring Issue.
What is the Background Knowledge?
On September 3, 2021, SPACE had reported the statement that the AAPSU President had stated pertaining to the Prolong issue oF the Offspring issue, Wherein Bagang came outrightly against the snail's pace of work of the commissioner, Social Justice Empowerment and Tribal Affairs (SJETA). AAPSU has been striving against the issue of "Offspring" for a prolonged span of years but it has been in vain, according to Bagang.
In the press briefing, AAPSU President vehemently criticized the commissioner for undermining AAPSU's stand on the offspring issue, henceforth Hawa Bagang served an ultimatum of seven days for early completion of the Draft of Offsprings of APST mothers and the Non-APST fathers who have been availing rights and benefits of the Scheduled Tribe of the State through deceptive, bogus and fraudulent means.
Bagang urged such aforesaid individuals to surrender their ST Certificate promptly, no excuses shall be entertained,
Bagang went on to state," This is my land, my work will be done, and outsiders have no right to claim any rights, and whosoever has been married to the Non-APST men should refrain from acquiring permanent property rights here in the state".
" you have lied to us repeatedly, giving us date after date, henceforth If we don't have the ultimatum from the commissioner within 7 days, we will tear the draft near your table" bellowed the disheartened AAPSU President.
Having urged the SJETA Commissioner for the early completion of work AAPSU President stormed the recent draft bill and stated, "In Arunachal, we give property to our girls, we don't create bias against our boys and girls here in the state, but giving property rights to the offspring of the Non-APST, irrespective of girls or boys is not acceptable"
What is the Update now?
Tatung Taga Convenor AAPSU Cum chairman on 2nd October 2021 stated to the SPACE Media that, " the issue is not a new one, which many things so, in fact, the matter dates back to the year, 2018.
"Hitherto the SJETA Commission has been wasting our time and knowingly denied looking into the matter.
Taga has also appealed to the Arunachalee youths to come forward in solidarity with AAPSU for the fight against the offspring issue, commencing from Akashdeep 10th 2021.
